Technique for “drum solo”

You do not need a choreography class to learn strong drum solo technique. This masterclass is focused on technique and designed to elevate your bellydance drum solos. We will explore how different isolations fit different sounds in the music—from dums & teks, rolls, accents and layered rhythms—so your movement choices feel musical, intentional and confident rather than random. We will work with small and intricate muscular movements, as well as large, explosive and dynamic actions, and how to transition smoothly between them. I will also share some of the unwritten rules of performing a drum solo and the details that separate a good performance from a truly captivating one.
